About Kean
Hi, I’m Kean — founder of Still Hound, a Bay Area dog trainer and walker. Before this, I worked as a paramedic, where I was first inspired by the incredible bond between search and rescue dogs and their handlers. That experience shaped how I approach training: clear communication, structure, and reliability under real-world pressure.
I am a member of Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers and continue to develop my work through that system. My approach combines structured obedience with practical, everyday application—whether on leash, off leash, or in social environments.
I focus as much on coaching owners as training dogs. You learn how to engage your dog, communicate clearly, and become a calm, consistent leader your dog wants to follow. The result is a dog that is motivated, attentive, and reliable because the relationship supports the training.
Alongside client work, I’ve trained my own border collie, Shelby, to be a focused, off-leash companion in high-distraction settings. I apply the same standards to every dog I work with, building calm, engaged behavior that holds up outside of training sessions.
